Each year a number of iconic annual events happen in Mt Morgan, these events will be listed on the Calender each year on this site, however as recurring events they are noted below.




Details: Held at ANZAC park each April 25, Mount Morgan hosts a significant annual remembrance of Australian Troops involvement at Gallipoli in World War I. Mt Morgan boasts a regiment of the Light Horse Brigade who take part.

Details regarding the 2019 ANZAC Day Services taking place in Mount Morgan are as follows:

Dawn Service: 4.30am at ANZAC Park, Morgan Street.

ANZAC March:
Marshalling location: School of Arts / Marshalling time: 10.30am
Step off: 10.45am
A Day Service will also be held at Anzac Park at 11am.



Golden Mount Festival

Date:3rd - 5th May, 2019

Details:The Golden Mount Festival is an iconic annual event held during the first weekend of May (Labour Day Weekend). For over 40 years, the annual event has hosted an array of spectacular fun and entertainment, seeing hundreds of locals, former locals and visitors join together to celebrate Mount Morgan and its wonderful heritage.

Come celebrate with the town of Mount Morgan this year and join in the fun and festivities of the Golden Mount Festival.

Enjoy an evening out fit for the whole family at Mount Morgan's picturesque Dam. Take a casual stroll around the market stalls, participate in one of the many competitions or just sit and enjoy the various entertainments on offer.

Whether you enjoy action packed sights, a day of fun and laughs, an opportunity to browse and buy or a chance to take home some cash - the Golden Mount Festival Weekend is sure to have something for you this year.

Mount Morgan Show

Date: 10th August, 2019

Details:Each year during August, the Mount Morgan Showground comes alive with the thousands enjoying the annual Mount Morgan Agricultural Show.

This year is sure to provide something for the whole family; including sideshow alley, great food, live music, competitions, pavilion displays, fireworks and lots more!

Mount Morgan Christmas Magic (formerly Christmas Tree Festival)

Date: December, 2019

Details:Adding extra meaning to “making the Christmas season bright”, the Mount Morgan Christmas Tree Festival is a must do in the local event calendar.

Each year, during a weekend in December, the Mount Morgan School of Arts hosts a spectacular sight as it is decked and dazzled with over 100 decorated Christmas trees.
Each tree on display is creatively decorated and uniquely personalised by the individuals, businesses and organisations who submit a tree; seeing and impressive exhibit of the community's culture and creativity.

Along with the dazzling displays, children’s rides, Christmas carols and food and refreshments are also available, along with a special visit from Santa. Since establishing over twelve years ago, this festival has grown in popularity, uniting much of the community and also the region each year. Saturday 7 December 2019 (2nd week in December).5.00pm -10.00pm.



Mount Morgan Wattle Day

Date:7th September, 2019

Details:Hosted by MMPAD and held on the first Saturday in September every year, at the Historical Railway Museum. This event celebrates Mount Morgan's own Silver Wattle with an award for a Mount Morgan 'Quiet Achiever' presented on the day. With live entertainment, market stalls and demonstrations, amusement rides, BBQ and refreshments available it's a great family fun day. 9am - 2pm.
